Teaching Assistant
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 12 October 2026
About the Role
An education provider in the West Midlands is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the classroom and help them achieve the highest possible outcomes.
Working alongside teaching staff, you'll help make learning accessible for every pupil, offering encouragement, structure and practical support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.
- Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
- Adapting tasks and materials so that pupils of all abilities can take part.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
- Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A good standard of general education, including literacy and numeracy
- A patient, encouraging approach and strong communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a teaching team
Desirable (but not essential):
- A Teaching Assistant qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience supporting learners in a school setting
