About the Role

An education provider is seeking a Caretaker to help keep their site safe, secure and well presented for learners, staff and visitors.

You'll be a practical, visible presence around the buildings and grounds, handling day-to-day maintenance and responding to issues as they arise. Working alongside colleagues across the site, you'll take pride in an environment where learning can continue without interruption.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Opening and securing buildings, and carrying out routine checks of the site.
• Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and basic porterage tasks.
• Keeping internal and external areas clean, tidy and free from hazards.
• Reporting faults, defects and any health and safety concerns promptly.
• Assisting with room set-ups, deliveries and the movement of furniture and equipment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Previous caretaking, site maintenance or facilities experience
• Practical DIY and general maintenance skills
• A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
• An awareness of health and safety in a working environment

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of working within a school, college or other education setting
• A relevant health and safety or maintenance qualification
