Job Description

Student Liaison Officer

Temporary

Location: the East of England

Start date: October 2026

About the role

A further education provider is looking for a Student Liaison Officer to be a first point of contact for learners, helping them settle in, stay engaged and get the support they need throughout their studies.

You'll work closely with students, teaching teams and support services, responding to queries, spotting learners who may be struggling and making sure the right help is put in place quickly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for students with questions, concerns or support needs.
  • Supporting learners to engage with their programme and monitoring attendance and progress.
  • Referring students to internal support services and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Working with teaching and support staff to share information and coordinate the right support.
  • Maintaining accurate records of contact, referrals and interventions.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Experience of working with young people or adults in an education or support setting
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A calm, approachable manner and the ability to handle sensitive conversations

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience within a further education environment
  • A relevant qualification in education, welfare, wellbeing or a related area

If you enjoy helping learners stay on track and feel supported, we'd love to hear from you.
