Foundation Learning Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South East
Start date: October 2026
Are you a Foundation Learning lecturer or tutor who enjoys helping learners build the confidence and independence to take their next step?
About the Role
Working with a further education provider in the South East, you'll deliver engaging, differentiated teaching to learners on foundation and entry-level programmes. You'll shape sessions around individual needs, build life and employability skills alongside subject content, and keep progress moving in a calm, supportive classroom.
You'll work closely with learning support colleagues and wider support teams so that every learner gets consistent help across their programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for foundation and entry-level learners.
- Supporting learners to develop communication, independence and life skills.
- Assessing, monitoring and recording learner progress, and giving constructive feedback.
- Promoting positive behaviour and strong learner engagement.
- Working alongside learning support assistants and other professionals to support individual needs.
- Contributing to reviews and progression planning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Experience teaching or supporting learners with additional needs
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A patient, flexible and learner-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of entry-level or pre-entry delivery
- Understanding of EHCPs and person-centred approaches
