SEN Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: 12 October 2026
Are you an experienced lecturer who enjoys supporting learners with special educational needs to build skills, confidence and independence?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver inclusive, engaging teaching to learners with special educational needs. You'll adapt your sessions to individual needs and abilities, helping each learner make progress at a pace that works for them.
Working alongside learning support colleagues, you'll monitor progress, give constructive feedback and help learners develop the practical and employability skills they need for their next steps.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering inclusive lessons for learners with special educational needs.
- Adapting teaching and learning materials to meet individual learner needs.
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence and employability skills.
- Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing feedback.
- Working closely with learning support colleagues and wider teams.
- Promoting an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching learners with special educational needs, learning difficulties or additional needs
- A relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within further education or a similar post-16 setting
- Experience supporting EHCP outcomes and progression
