About the Role

An education provider is looking for a Catering Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy catering operation. You'll help prepare and serve food, keep the kitchen and service areas clean and well organised, and make sure every meal is delivered to a consistently high standard.

It's a practical, hands-on role in a team environment, and you'll be working alongside catering staff to keep the service running smoothly throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food.
• Serving food and drink to customers during service periods.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces, crockery and service areas.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times.
• Supporting the wider catering team with deliveries, stock rotation and general kitchen duties.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards
• Reliable, well organised and able to work at pace during busy service periods
• A positive, team-focused approach

Desirable (but not essential):

• Food Safety qualification
• Previous experience in an education or large-scale catering setting
