Additional Needs Support Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 1 October 2026
About the Role
Our client, a further education provider in the West Midlands, is looking for an Additional Needs Support Tutor to work with learners who need additional help to access and succeed on their course.
You'll provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, working alongside teaching staff to make sure each learner's needs are understood and met in the classroom and the workshop. Your focus will be on building confidence, independence and the skills learners need to progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learners with additional needs in lessons and in small group sessions.
- Working with tutors and curriculum staff to adapt resources and delivery to individual needs.
- Monitoring learner progress and keeping accurate records of the support provided.
- Encouraging learners to develop independence and confidence in their learning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of supporting learners with additional needs, SEND or additional learning support requirements
- The ability to build positive, professional relationships with learners and colleagues
- A patient, encouraging and learner-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience working within further education
- A relevant teaching, learning support or SEND qualification
