About the Role

An education provider is looking for a Public Services Lecturer to deliver theory and practical sessions to learners working towards recognised public services qualifications. You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess learner progress and help students build the knowledge, discipline and confidence they need to move into uniformed and public service careers.

You'll bring your own experience into the classroom to keep learning relevant and current, and you'll create a positive, professional environment where learners are motivated to achieve.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering public services theory and practical sessions across a range of levels.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
• Assessing learner work, tracking progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Adapting teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Supporting curriculum delivery and development.
• Supporting learners to progress into further study, training or employment.
• Maintaining high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant experience or a qualification in public services or a related discipline
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions to learners of mixed abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting learners to achieve

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting
