Job Description
Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South East
Start date: 30 November 2026
Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South East, delivering electrical engineering teaching to learners working towards vocational qualifications. Whether you're already teaching or currently working in industry, your technical knowledge is what matters most.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions across theory and practical workshop settings, helping learners build the skills, understanding and professional behaviours they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging electrical engineering sessions in classroom and workshop settings.
- Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Preparing learners for the requirements of their awarding body qualifications.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience within the electrical engineering sector
- A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching, training or assessing learners
- Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications
If you're new to teaching, that's not a barrier — your industry experience is what counts, and you'll be supported as you make the move into further education.
If you're ready to use your electrical engineering expertise to shape the engineers of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you.
