Plumbing Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced plumbing professional looking to pass your trade knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in plumbing, helping learners build the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to progress in the industry.
You'll teach in both classroom and workshop settings, track learner progress and keep your sessions grounded in current industry practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, delivering and assessing plumbing sessions.
- Supporting and motivating learners and tracking their progress.
- Maintaining a safe and effective classroom and workshop environment.
- Developing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 plumbing qualification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
- Current or recent industry experience within plumbing
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and engage learners
- An Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months
- Two references from your most recent employers
Desirable (but not essential):
- Teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Assessor qualification
- Experience of delivering training or teaching groups in further education
