Job Description

Electrical Engineering Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the South West

Start date: 2 November 2026

Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to inspire the next generation of engineers, or an established lecturer seeking your next opportunity?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in the South West to deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across electrical engineering programmes. Your work will combine practical workshop sessions with classroom-based theory, helping learners build the technical knowledge, skills and behaviours the engineering sector expects.

Applications are welcome from both qualified teachers and industry professionals looking to move into further education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across electrical engineering programmes.
  • Preparing learning materials, schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body and organisational requirements.
  • Embedding current industry practice and standards into your delivery.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical engineering
  • Relevant industrial experience within the electrical engineering sector
  • A passion for developing others and sharing your technical knowledge

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience of teaching or training learners
  • Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications

If you're new to teaching, that needn't hold you back — our client welcomes applications from industry professionals making the move into further education.

If you're ready to use your industry experience to develop the engineers of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you.
