Chef Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced chef looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
We're recruiting a Chef Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll deliver practical and theory sessions to learners working towards professional cookery qualifications, bringing your kitchen experience into the training kitchen and classroom.
You'll support learners to build the technical skills, professionalism and confidence they need to progress into the hospitality industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical and theory professional cookery sessions.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities against assessment criteria.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting support in place where it's needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
- Creating a safe, inclusive learning environment in which every learner is challenged and supported.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in professional cookery or a closely related discipline
- Occupational experience as a chef
- Confidence delivering both practical and theory sessions
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting
