Temporary

Location: the South West

Pay: £50 per hour

Start date: October 2026

Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to step off the tools and pass your trade skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

Working with a further education provider, you'll deliver practical workshop and theory sessions in Carpentry to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications. • Assessing learner work and tracking progress against qualification requirements.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workshop.
  • Supporting learners to develop the practical skills and confidence to progress into employment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Substantial hands-on industry experience in Carpentry
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery or a related construction discipline
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of mixed abilities

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
  • An assessor qualification
  • Previous experience teaching or mentoring in a workshop setting
