SEN Maths Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: September 2026
Are you a maths teacher who takes real satisfaction in helping learners with additional needs grow in confidence?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, delivering maths to learners with special educational needs. You'll adapt your teaching to the individual, building numeracy skills alongside independence and self-belief.
You'll plan accessible sessions, track progress and work closely with learning support colleagues so that every learner gets the right level of challenge and help.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering inclusive maths lessons for learners with SEN.
- Adapting teaching, resources and assessment to meet individual learner needs.
- Monitoring progress, marking work and giving clear, constructive feedback.
- Working alongside learning support staff and the wider curriculum team.
- Maintaining a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching maths to learners with SEN or additional learning needs
- A strong numeracy background or maths-specific qualification
- The ability to differentiate and adapt teaching for mixed abilities
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent
- Previous experience in a further education or post-16 setting
