About the Role

We're recruiting a Security Guard to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for learners and staff, working as a visible and approachable presence across site.

You'll spend much of your time out and about rather than behind a desk, supervising behaviour, responding to incidents and building rapport with the people you meet.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting tours of site to encourage lanyard use and respectful behaviour.
• Supervising behaviour across designated areas.
• Monitoring common rooms during break times.
• Responding to incidents involving unauthorised individuals on site.
• Building rapport with individuals and reporting anyone at risk to the safeguarding team.
• Reporting breaches of the code of conduct.
• Communicating regularly with the safeguarding and tutorial team to support a safe culture.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Previous security experience, ideally in a public-facing environment
• Proven ability to work effectively with young people and vulnerable adults
• A GCSE (or equivalent) qualification
• Willing and able to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
• Professional, reliable and approachable, with excellent communication skills
