Officer
Temporary
Location: the South East
About the Role
As a Officer, you'll help keep a further education provider's site safe, secure and welcoming, acting as a visible point of contact for learners, staff and visitors throughout the day.
You'll patrol the site, respond to incidents as they arise and support colleagues in maintaining a calm, orderly environment in which learners can get on with their studies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out regular patrols of buildings and grounds.
- Monitoring access, signing in visitors and checking identification.
- Responding to incidents, accidents and emergencies, and escalating where needed.
- Supporting learners and staff with positive behaviour and site rules.
- Reporting maintenance, health and safety or security concerns.
- Assisting with opening and securing buildings.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a security, site or facilities role
- A calm, approachable manner when dealing with young people and the public
- Good communication and observation skills
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working in an education setting
- A relevant health and safety or first aid qualification
