Computing Lecturer (Temporary)

Computing Lecturer

Temporary

Location: the North West

Start date: November 2026

Are you a computing professional looking to pass on your technical expertise to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Computing Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging theory and practical teaching that helps learners build the digital skills and underpinning knowledge they need to progress into the technology sector or on to further study.

Working with a further education provider in the North West, you'll plan and prepare lessons and resources, assess learner progress and adapt your approach to suit learners at different levels and stages of their training.

If you come from industry rather than a teaching background, that's welcome here. You'll be supported to develop your classroom practice through mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering theory and practical lessons across computing and digital programmes.
• Creating teaching resources and assessing learner progress.
• Providing constructive feedback and guidance to support achievement.
• Adapting your teaching to meet the needs of learners at different levels.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessment and achievement.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Strong technical knowledge of computing, gained in industry or in education
• A relevant qualification in computing or a related discipline
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons
• Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
• Experience teaching or assessing within further education
• Experience of specialist areas such as programming, networking, web development or cyber security

If you're ready to help learners build the digital skills employers are looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
