Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Are you a maths specialist who enjoys helping learners gain the grade that opens the next door for them?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South West to plan, deliver and assess Maths across its programmes. You'll teach learners of mixed abilities, preparing them for external assessment and supporting them to develop the numeracy skills they need for work, life and further study.
You'll work as part of a supportive teaching team, contributing to the quality of the curriculum as well as the day-to-day classroom experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, accessible teaching and assessment in Maths to learners of mixed abilities.
- Planning schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge to build confidence and motivation.
- Maintaining accurate records of learner performance and completing associated administration.
- Contributing to internal quality procedures and programme reviews.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths
- Experience teaching Maths within further education or secondary education
- Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd, DET or a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
- Experience supporting resit learners
