Start date: September 2026
About the Role
Are you passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential?
You'll join a further education provider supporting learners with a range of additional learning needs, working alongside teaching staff to make sure every student can access and enjoy their studies.
Working one to one and in small groups, you'll build the confidence, independence and routines that help learners succeed both in the classroom and in wider college life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional learning needs.
- Helping learners access the curriculum and develop independent learning skills.
- Working closely with teaching staff to put support strategies in place and adapt learning materials.
- Promoting engagement, inclusion and positive behaviour.
- Contributing to learner support plans, reviews and accurate record keeping.
- Prioritising the safeguarding and wellbeing of learners at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience supporting young people or adults in an education, care or community setting
- Strong communication, empathy and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to inclusive learning and learner progress
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience working with learners with SEND or SEMH needs
- Knowledge of EHCPs and learning support strategies
- A relevant qualification in education, support work or youth work, or a willingness to work towards one
No formal teaching qualification is required — enthusiasm for supporting learners matters most.
If you're ready to help learners achieve more than they thought possible, we'd love to hear from you.
