Interim SENCo
Temporary | Contract
Are you an experienced SENCo looking for an interim opportunity where you can make an immediate difference to learners with additional needs?
About the Role
You'll join a multi-academy trust to lead and coordinate SEND provision, making sure learners with additional needs receive the support, adjustments and advocacy they need to succeed.
You'll work closely with teaching staff, families and external agencies, keeping provision compliant, well organised and focused on outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the setting.
- Leading on EHCP consultations, annual reviews and associated paperwork.
- Working with local authorities, families and external agencies.
- Advising colleagues on reasonable adjustments and SEND legislation.
- Supporting and developing the SEND and learning support team.
- Monitoring learner support, progress and outcomes.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing SEND policies.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience as a SENCo, SEND Manager, SEN Lead or similar
- Strong knowledge of EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience working with local authorities and external agencies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- DfE-approved SENCo qualification, such as NASENCO
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience leading or managing a SEND or learning support team
- Experience using data to monitor learner outcomes
- Child protection or designated safeguarding lead training
