Are you an experienced SEND professional who enjoys helping learners build independence and confidence?
About the Role
You'll join the inclusion team at a further education provider, working alongside learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. You'll provide personalised support that helps them access their course, make progress and work towards the outcomes set out in their plans.
You'll work one to one and with small groups, as well as supporting learners within lessons. You'll also work closely with teaching and support colleagues, advising on inclusive practice and the adjustments that make the biggest difference to learners day to day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with SEND.
- Supporting learners to work towards their EHCP outcomes.
- Helping learners develop independence, communication and confidence.
- Providing in-class, welfare and academic support.
- Advising teaching staff on inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Working closely with teaching and support teams across the provision.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience supporting young people and/or adults with SEND
- A good understanding of EHCPs
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to helping learners develop independence
Desirable (but not essential):
- A relevant SEND, education, coaching or support qualification
- Experience working in a further education or training environment
If you're ready to help learners achieve more than they thought they could, we'd love to hear from you.
