Foundation Learning Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the South East
Start date: November 2026
Are you an experienced Foundation Learning lecturer or tutor looking to support learners who need additional help to progress?
About the Role
As a Foundation Learning Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, differentiated teaching to entry-level learners at a further education provider, building their confidence, independence and life skills alongside their academic progress.
Working closely with learning support colleagues, you'll plan around individual needs, track progress and help learners move on to their next step.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for entry-level learners.
- Supporting learners to develop communication, independence and life skills.
- Shaping learning around individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
- Monitoring, recording and assessing learner progress.
- Supporting positive behaviour and learner engagement.
- Working alongside learning support assistants and other professionals.
- Contributing to progression and review planning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Experience teaching learners with special educational needs
- Experience working with entry-level or pre-entry learners
- Understanding of EHCPs and person-centred approaches
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A patient, flexible and learner-focused approach
