Are you an experienced SEND or Foundation Learning practitioner looking to help young people build the skills they need for independent life?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider delivering a Pathway to Independence programme for learners with additional needs. You'll plan and deliver sessions that build confidence, independence and employability, adapting your approach to learners with a wide range of starting points.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, differentiated sessions in independent living, personal and social development and study skills.
  • Supporting learners with SEND and barriers to learning to engage and progress.
  • Monitoring progress, attendance and achievement, and keeping records up to date.
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews and progression planning.
  • Working closely with support staff and external professionals to meet individual learner needs.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience teaching or supporting learners with SEND
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient and inclusive approach

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A Level 5 teaching qualification — PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
  • Experience delivering functional English and maths

If you're ready to help learners take their next step towards independence, we'd love to hear from you.
