Location: the South East

Are you passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South East as a Learning Support Assistant, working alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support to learners with additional needs.
You'll build positive, trusting relationships with the learners you support, adapting your approach to suit individual needs and helping them grow in confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Working alongside teaching staff to help learners access the curriculum and complete their work.
- Encouraging learner independence, confidence and engagement.
- Supporting the delivery of individual learning plans and monitoring progress.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A genuine commitment to supporting learners with additional needs
- The ability to build rapport with young people and adults
- Patience, sensitivity and strong communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- An understanding of how an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) informs support
- Previous experience within the further education sector
