EHCP Learning Support Assistant
Temporary
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: 21 September 2026
Are you an experienced learning support professional who is passionate about helping post-16 learners with additional needs achieve their potential?
About the Role
As an EHCP Learning Support Assistant with a training provider, you'll support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans to access their programme, engage with their studies and build confidence in their chosen direction.
You'll draw on your knowledge and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND), adapting your approach to the individual learner in front of you. Working within a supportive team, you'll help create a calm and inclusive environment where every learner can progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learners with additional learning needs to access and engage with their programme.
- Working closely with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
- Helping to create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Assisting learners to develop the skills, confidence and independence to succeed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of supporting young people with SEND in an education, care or community setting
- A patient, adaptable and learner-centred approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Knowledge of EHCPs and learning support strategies
- Experience of working with post-16 learners
