Criminology Lecturer
Temporary

Are you a criminology specialist looking to pass your subject knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the West Midlands is looking for a Criminology Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll plan and deliver engaging criminology sessions, helping learners build the knowledge, analytical skills and confidence they need to progress in their studies and careers.
Alongside teaching, you'll assess learners' work, track their progress and contribute to curriculum development, making sure course content remains current and relevant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and high-quality teaching across criminology courses.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development, ensuring content remains current and relevant.
- Supporting learners to develop their academic skills and employability prospects.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in criminology or a closely related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to make it accessible to learners
- A teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
- Experience of contributing to curriculum development
