Are you an experienced construction professional looking to pass your trade skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join the construction team at a further education provider, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across multi-skills programmes. Working across both practical workshop and classroom settings, you'll help learners build the hands-on skills, confidence and qualifications they need to progress into employment or further training.

You'll plan engaging sessions that reflect current industry practice, and you'll support your learners academically and pastorally throughout their programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality practical and theoretical teaching across multi-skills programmes.
• Planning and preparing lessons and practical workshop sessions.
• Assessing learner progress, providing constructive feedback and setting individual targets.
• Providing tutorial and pastoral support to learners from a range of backgrounds.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and monitoring attendance and achievement.
• Embedding English and maths skills within vocational learning.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant construction trade
• Level 2 English and maths (or equivalent)
• Hands-on industry experience within construction or multi-trade environments
• Strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to motivate learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification (Level 4 or Level 5), or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching or supporting learners, apprentices or trainees
• Experience of working with learners who have additional educational or behavioural support needs
