Travel and Tourism Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced travel and tourism professional looking to inspire the next generation, or already teaching and ready for your next opportunity within further education?
About the Role
As a Travel and Tourism Lecturer, you'll deliver high-quality teaching across travel and tourism courses for a further education provider, helping learners build the knowledge and practical skills they need to progress into the industry.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions to learners of mixed abilities, assess work in line with awarding body requirements and work alongside the wider teaching team to maintain strong standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering travel and tourism sessions across a range of levels and abilities.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Marking learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Contributing to curriculum development, ensuring content reflects current industry practice.
- Supporting learners to develop their skills, confidence and employability prospects.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Subject knowledge and experience in travel and tourism
- A relevant qualification in travel and tourism, or equivalent industry experience
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching or assessing within further education
