Job Description
Mechanical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary
Start date: November 2026
Are you an experienced mechanical engineering professional looking to inspire the next generation of engineers?
About the Role
You'll join an education provider as a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer, delivering practical and theoretical sessions to learners working towards their engineering qualifications. You'll teach in both workshop and classroom settings, helping learners build the technical skills, underpinning knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in industry.
You'll assess progress, give clear feedback and create a safe, inclusive environment where learners can do their best work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality practical mechanical engineering training.
- Teaching the theoretical knowledge that underpins engineering practice.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities that support progression and achievement.
- Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications.
- Contributing to curriculum development so content reflects current industry standards.
- Maintaining safe working practices in workshops and learning environments.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline
- Relevant industry experience within an engineering environment
- A passion for sharing your knowledge and supporting learner success
Desirable (but not essential):
- HNC or higher in mechanical engineering
- A recognised teaching qualification
A teaching qualification isn't essential. If you're moving across from industry, you'll be supported to gain one.
If you're ready to pass your engineering experience on to the next generation, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to gain teaching qualification if moving from industry
