Welding Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: 5 October 2026
Are you an experienced welding professional ready to pass your skills on to the next generation of fabricators?
About the Role
We're recruiting a Welding Lecturer to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll deliver practical and theory sessions in the workshop and the classroom, bringing your trade experience into your teaching and helping learners build the skills and confidence to progress into industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging practical welding training and the theory that underpins it.
- Assessing learners' work and giving clear, constructive feedback against assessment criteria.
- Monitoring progress and putting support in place where learners need it.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
- Creating a safe, inclusive learning environment in which every learner is challenged and supported.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in welding or a closely related discipline
- Occupational experience gained in the welding or fabrication industry
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessing qualification
- Experience of teaching or training in a further education setting
