Location: the South East

Start date: September 2026

Are you an experienced welder ready to pass on your trade to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Welding Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging practical and theoretical teaching across welding programmes for an education provider in the South East. You'll plan, prepare and assess learning that supports every student to progress and achieve.

This is a role for someone who combines strong technical skill with the ability to bring real industry experience into the workshop and the classroom. You'll work alongside a supportive teaching team and help students build the practical ability and confidence that employers are looking for.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality practical welding training in the workshop.
• Teaching the underpinning theory that supports safe and competent welding practice.
• Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities that support student progression and achievement.
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in welding or a closely related discipline
• Recent industry experience in welding
• A passion for developing others and sharing your technical knowledge

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Experience of teaching, assessing or instructing learners
• An assessor qualification

If you don't have teaching experience, that's no barrier — we welcome applications from industry professionals, and you'll be supported with mentoring and ongoing development.
