Welding Assessor
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 25 August 2026
Are you an experienced welding professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the role
You'll deliver training and assessment to welding learners and apprentices for a further education provider, bringing your industry experience into the workshop and the workplace.
You'll plan and deliver training tailored to individual needs, carry out assessments and observations, and give clear feedback in line with awarding body standards. Working closely with learners and employers, you'll monitor progress and help apprentices prepare for End Point Assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging training sessions on site and in the workplace.
- Planning and delivering individual training plans tailored to learner needs.
- Carrying out assessments and workplace observations.
- Providing clear, high-quality feedback in line with awarding body standards.
- Completing regular progress reviews with learners and employers.
- Preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A recognised qualification in welding or welding and fabrication
- Recent industry experience in welding
- The ability to motivate and support learners to achieve
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of assessing or training apprentices
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
