Travel and Tourism Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Are you an experienced travel and tourism professional looking to pass your industry knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber, delivering travel and tourism to learners working towards their qualifications.
You'll plan and teach sessions that bring the sector to life, drawing on real industry practice so that learners understand how the business of travel and tourism actually works. You'll track progress, give constructive feedback and support learners to build the skills and confidence employers look for.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging travel and tourism sessions to groups of mixed ability.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development in line with current industry practice.
- Supporting learners to develop their employability and progression options.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Industry experience in travel and tourism
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
