Personal Development Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you an experienced teacher or cover supervisor looking for a role focused on learner progress and wellbeing?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the West Midlands as a Personal Development Tutor, working closely with learners to support their progress, wellbeing and next steps so they get the most from their time in education.
No formal teaching qualification is required — a genuine enthusiasm for supporting learners matters more.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Holding one-to-one meetings with learners to discuss progress plans and develop targets.
- Delivering the personal development programme.
- Monitoring and actioning issues with timekeeping, attendance and behaviour.
- Supporting learners with their next steps, including UCAS applications, apprenticeships, further study and work.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience delivering to classes
- 1:1 tutorial or pastoral experience
- An Enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Knowledge of additional learning needs
- Up-to-date safeguarding training, or a willingness to obtain it
