Teacher of SEND

Temporary | Contract

Location: the East Midlands

Start date: 9 October 2026

Are you a teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to young people with additional needs?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as a Teacher of SEND, planning and delivering inclusive sessions shaped around the individual needs of learners with special educational needs and disabilities.

You'll adapt your teaching to a range of abilities and learning styles, working alongside support staff to help learners build confidence, independence and the skills they need for work and everyday life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that reflect individual learning plans.
  • Adapting resources and teaching methods to remove barriers to learning.
  • Working closely with support staff to provide effective in-class and individual support.
  • Assessing and tracking learner progress, and giving constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience of teaching or supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience of working in a further education setting
  • Experience of delivering functional skills or life skills
