SEN Art & Design Lecturer
Temporary
Location: London
Start date: 28 September 2026
Are you an experienced art and design lecturer or teacher with experience of working with SEND learners?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in London, delivering art and design to learners with SEND. You'll plan creative, practical sessions and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, working alongside learning support assistants and other professionals to help learners build skills, confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging art and design lessons.
- Adapting teaching to meet individual SEND needs, including autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.
- Developing learners' creative, practical and employability skills.
- Assessing and monitoring learner progress.
- Supporting EHCP outcomes and progression planning.
- Working closely with learning support assistants and other professionals.
- Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and learner wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Full Level 5 teaching qualification – PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Strong art and design subject knowledge
- Experience teaching learners with SEND
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A creative, patient and inclusive approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience adapting teaching for Entry Level learners
- Experience within further education or a similar post-16 setting
