SEMH Lecturer
Location: East London
Contract: Part-time, Temporary
Start: ASAP
Hours: 32+ hours per week
Working Pattern: Across 5 days
Are you an experienced SEMH/SEND Lecturer, specialist teacher or alternative provision professional?
We are recruiting for a part-time temporary SEMH Lecturer working with small groups of learners with primary SEMH needs, often alongside autism, ADHD and other neurodiverse needs.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Deliver English, Maths, tutorials and personal/social/study skills.
- Support learners with SEMH and barriers to learning.
- Build positive relationships with challenging or disengaged learners.
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement.
- Monitor and assess learner progress.
- Support EHCP targets and progression planning.
- Work closely with LSAs, pastoral teams and external professionals.
About You
- Essential: Full Level 5 teaching qualification – PGCE, Cert Ed or DET.
- Significant experience working with SEMH/SEND learners.
- Experience managing challenging or disengaged behaviour.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Experience delivering English and Maths.
- Understanding of EHCPs and multi-agency working.
- A resilient, patient and adaptable approach.
