Security Officer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands.
You'll help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for learners, staff and visitors, providing a visible and approachable presence throughout the working day. You'll carry out patrols, monitor access and respond to incidents as they arise, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Patrolling the premises and monitoring access by learners, staff and visitors.
- Providing a visible security presence and responding to incidents as they occur.
- Reporting concerns, incidents and maintenance issues to the appropriate colleagues.
- Supporting the safe movement of people around the premises, including at busy periods.
- Maintaining accurate records and logs relating to security activity.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in a security or similar role
- A calm, professional manner when dealing with incidents and challenging situations
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with young people and adults
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working in an education setting
- A valid SIA licence
