Job Description
Mechanical Engineer Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Are you an experienced mechanical engineering professional looking to inspire the next generation of engineers?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West as a Mechanical Engineer Lecturer, delivering practical workshop sessions and supporting theory to learners working towards vocational qualifications in engineering.
You'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, teaching to current standards and supporting each learner to build the technical skills, confidence and employability that employers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across mechanical engineering courses.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline
- Relevant industry experience within an engineering environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
A teaching qualification isn't essential — if you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported to gain one.
Shape the Next Generation of Engineers
If you're ready to pass on your engineering expertise and help learners build careers in the sector, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to gain teaching qualification if coming from industry
