Job Description

Safeguarding Support

Temporary | Contract

Start date: September 2026

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as part of the safeguarding team, supporting the day-to-day work that keeps learners safe and well. It's a role where you'll be a point of contact for learners and staff raising concerns, and where discretion and good judgement matter.

You'll help manage referrals and casework, keep records accurate and confidential, and work alongside colleagues across the organisation and with external agencies to make sure learners get the right support at the right time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the safeguarding team with the handling and recording of concerns and referrals.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential records and case files.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for learners and staff raising safeguarding concerns.
  • Liaising with colleagues, support teams and external agencies as required.
  • Contributing to safeguarding meetings, reviews and reporting.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in a safeguarding, welfare, pastoral or learner support role
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding practice and the importance of confidentiality
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience within further education
  • Safeguarding training at an appropriate level

If you're ready to play a part in keeping learners safe and supported, we'd love to hear from you.
