Professional Construction Lecturer (Surveying)
Temporary
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced surveying professional looking to pass your industry knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the East Midlands, delivering professional construction programmes with a focus on surveying. You'll teach both theory and applied sessions, drawing on your own industry experience to bring the subject to life for learners preparing for careers in the built environment.
You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess learner work and track progress, working alongside an established curriculum team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering lessons across professional construction and surveying programmes.
- Developing teaching and learning resources that reflect current industry practice.
- Assessing learner work and giving timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting individuals to achieve their qualifications.
- Contributing to high standards of teaching, learning and assessment within the curriculum team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification at degree or Level 4 and above in surveying, construction or a closely related discipline
- Substantial industry experience in surveying or professional construction
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in developing learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous teaching, training or mentoring experience
