Job Description
Plumbing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Are you an experienced plumber looking to inspire the next generation, or an established lecturer seeking your next opportunity?
About the Role
A further education provider in the region is looking for a Plumbing Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging theory and practical workshop sessions across plumbing programmes, helping learners build the technical knowledge and hands-on skills they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.
You'll plan and prepare your own sessions, assess learners' work and track their progress, working alongside curriculum colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
We welcome applications from industry professionals as well as experienced lecturers. If you bring real-world plumbing experience and a passion for developing others, support is available to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging classroom and workshop-based teaching across plumbing programmes.
- Supporting, motivating and developing learners towards their qualifications.
- Assessing learners' work and giving timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining a safe and effective workshop environment.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
- Working collaboratively with curriculum colleagues to maintain high standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 Plumbing qualification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
- Current or recent industry experience within plumbing
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and engage learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Experience of teaching or training groups within further education
If you're ready to pass on your trade knowledge and help shape the next generation of plumbers, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support available to gain recognised teaching qualification
