Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: November 2026
Are you a time-served electrician looking to inspire the next generation, or an established lecturer seeking your next opportunity?
About the Role
A further education provider in the region is looking for an Electrical Installation Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging theory and practical workshop sessions across electrical installation programmes, helping learners build the technical knowledge and hands-on skills they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.
You'll plan and prepare your own sessions, assess learners' work and track their progress, working alongside curriculum colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
We welcome applications from industry professionals as well as experienced lecturers. If you bring real-world electrical experience and a passion for developing others, support is available to help you gain a recognised teaching qualification.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging classroom and workshop-based teaching across electrical installation programmes.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments in line with awarding body standards.
- Assessing learners' practical and written work and giving timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners in developing their technical skills and employability prospects.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Industry experience in the electrical trade
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of teaching or assessing within further education
- An assessor qualification
- Current 18th Edition wiring regulations
