Plumbing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Pay: £50 per hour
Start date: 19 October 2026
Are you an experienced plumber looking to pass your trade skills on to the next generation?
About the role
As a Plumbing Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions that build the technical knowledge, hands-on skills and professional confidence your learners need to succeed. You'll bring real-world industry insight into the classroom and workshop, giving learners context alongside the theory that underpins it.
Working with a further education provider, you'll teach across the plumbing programme, adapting your approach to a range of levels and helping every learner progress. You'll monitor progress closely and give the feedback and encouragement that keeps learners on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering plumbing theory and practical sessions that are engaging and well structured.
- Preparing schemes of work, resources and assessments that support progression and achievement.
- Assessing learners' knowledge and practical skills and marking work accurately.
- Providing timely, constructive feedback that helps learners improve.
- Tracking learner performance and keeping accurate records of attendance and achievement.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop and classroom environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 plumbing qualification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
- Current or recent industry experience in plumbing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage learners
- Good organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Experience of teaching or training groups
If you're ready to bring your trade experience into the classroom and workshop, we'd love to hear from you.
