About the Role

As a Plumbing Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll deliver practical and theory-based teaching to learners working towards their plumbing qualifications. You'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress.

You'll plan and prepare lessons, assess progress and support learners throughout their programme, working as part of a supportive team.

If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Where relevant, the provider offers support to help you develop your teaching practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering practical and theoretical plumbing sessions to learners at a range of levels.
• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining a safe and productive classroom and workshop environment.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
• Keeping your industry knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 plumbing qualification or equivalent
• Current or recent industry experience in plumbing
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate and engage learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
• Assessor qualification
• Previous experience of teaching or training groups
