Are you an experienced plumbing professional looking to pass on your trade to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as a Plumbing Lecturer, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment to learners working towards their plumbing qualifications. You'll draw on your own experience in the trade to help them build the skills, knowledge and standards the industry expects.

You'll teach in both the classroom and the workshop, keeping learners motivated, tracking their progress and making sure the learning environment stays safe and well organised.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, delivering and assessing plumbing courses.
• Supporting, motivating and tracking the progress of your learners.
• Maintaining a safe and effective classroom and workshop environment.
• Developing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
• Keeping your industry knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.
• Taking part in tutorials, assessments and learner reviews.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 plumbing qualification or equivalent industry-recognised qualification
• Substantial industry experience as a plumber
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate and engage learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• Teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Assessor qualification
• Experience of delivering training or teaching groups

You don't need to have taught before. If you're ready to move off the tools, teacher training and ongoing development can be provided to help you make the step.

Pass your trade on

If you're ready to help the next generation of plumbers build their careers, we'd love to hear from you.
