Plumbing & Gas Assessor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the Wales
Are you an experienced plumbing or gas professional looking to support the next generation of skilled tradespeople?
About the Role
A further education provider is seeking a Plumbing & Gas Assessor to support apprentices through their training journey, helping them develop the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours required within industry.
You'll work closely with apprentices, employers and curriculum teams, assessing competence against industry standards and guiding learners towards achievement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing apprentices against apprenticeship standards and qualification requirements.
- Carrying out workplace observations, assessments and progress reviews.
- Supporting learners with evidence gathering and portfolio development.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with employers.
- Maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge through continuing professional development.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Plumbing
- Recent hands-on industry experience within plumbing and/or gas
- Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners of varying abilities
- Confident IT and digital skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Valid Gas Safe registration
- Assessing qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent)
- Previous experience of apprenticeship or vocational training
