Are you an experienced plumbing professional looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join an education provider as a Plumbing Assessor, supporting apprentices and learners through their training and assessing their competence against industry standards.

You'll manage a caseload of learners, carry out assessments and progress reviews, and give clear feedback that helps each apprentice move towards completion. You'll also work closely with employers and curriculum colleagues to keep learners on track.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing apprentices against qualification requirements and apprenticeship standards.
• Carrying out workplace observations, assessments and progress reviews.
• Supporting learners with evidence gathering and portfolio development.
• Providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve performance.
• Maintaining accurate learner and assessment records.
• Building strong working relationships with employers and industry partners.
• Contributing to quality assurance activity and keeping your industry knowledge current.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 qualification in Plumbing (NVQ, City & Guilds Advanced Craft or equivalent)
• Recent hands-on industry experience in plumbing
• Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to motivate and support learners of varying abilities
• Confident IT and digital skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• An assessing qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent)
• Gas qualifications and experience
• Previous experience of apprenticeship or vocational training
