Plumbing and Gas Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced plumbing and gas professional looking to pass on your trade knowledge to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for a Plumbing and Gas Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to plumbing and gas learners.
You'll plan and deliver sessions in the classroom and workshop, supporting learners of varying abilities to build the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours the industry expects. You'll also track progress, give constructive feedback and keep accurate learner records.
If you're coming straight from industry, that's welcome — this role suits someone who knows the trade and wants to teach it.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical and theory sessions to plumbing and gas learners.
- Planning schemes of work, lessons and learning resources.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing developmental feedback.
- Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications.
- Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation.
- Promoting high standards of health and safety in the workshop.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in plumbing or a related discipline
- Recent industry experience in plumbing and/or gas engineering
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- Gas qualifications and experience
- Teaching or assessing qualification
- Experience of delivering training or teaching groups
