Job Description
Photography Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North East
Are you a photography professional looking to pass your creative and technical expertise on to the next generation?
About the Role
An education provider is looking to appoint a Photography Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across its photography programmes, with a start date of September 2026.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions covering both the creative and technical sides of photography, assess learner progress and support students to build a portfolio and the skills they need to progress into further study or employment.
If you're new to teaching, that's not a barrier. Industry professionals are supported to work towards a recognised teaching qualification while they work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of photography programmes.
- Teaching both studio and technical skills, alongside the theory that underpins them.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and learner outcomes.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A qualification in photography or a related creative subject
- Industry or professional experience in photography
- Strong technical knowledge of photographic practice and equipment
- Enthusiasm for supporting and motivating learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching or assessing in a further education or post-16 setting
If you're ready to inspire the next generation of photographers, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
